Slackline Walk

 


Hey it's Kam!


    One of the first assignments I had in my second quarter was a walk cycle with personality! I studied a tightrope walk. I really enjoy the technical aspects of animation, it's very satisfying to be able to break it down into small steps (pun intended) and I find it quite straight forward for the most part. What I struggled with the most on this assignment was the timing on the arms and how fast the character was moving. Too fast and far between made it look choppy and even spacing on the arms made it robotic. In the end I settled for a slower cycle (more drawings) and I made the timing in the arms look more natural by favoring positions at random. This animation was quite literally a balancing act! I think its some of my best work and its still holds up! Potentially could be demo reel worthy!
